Finalized Applications for Summer Camp

After hours agonizing over finishing the summer camp scholarship applications, they were finally finished. There was some coaxing, some arguing, and some hilarity involved, but it got done. Here's the final product:

Bastian drew a picture of himself in the woods with butterflies, since the section he'll be attending is called "Butterfly Blitz."
Our friend Tracie wrote extraordinary letters about both children and how perfect they'll be at camp.
Aleks' letter reads:
MAY 13, 2010
TO WHOM iT MAY CONCERN
i WANT TO ATTEND THE OUTDOOR
ADVENTURE CAMP SWAMP LiFE
BECAUSE iT WiLL BE FUN TO BE
PLAYiNG WITH A LOT OF OTHER KiDS
MY AGE AND GETTiNG TO STUDY
SWAMP LiFE LiKE HERONS AND
TURTLES AND DRAGONFLiES ARE
ONE OF MY FAVORiTE BUGS
THE REASON i LiKE THE OUTDOORS
iS BECAUSE iM iNTERESTED iN
WiLDLiFE AND i FIND OUT ABOUT NEW
PLACES AND LEARN ABOUT FASiNAT
iNG CREATURES YOURS SiNCERELY ALEKS

The good news is that I was phoned by the scholarship lady while I was in the Florida Keys to inform me that the children did indeed win partial scholarships (they go up to 75% of the cost of camp, but due to our lateness and the spreading thin of funds, we got the smaller amount of 50%, which, frankly, is still okay by me). I think it's because my sons are so clearly awesome, but I may be biased.

"fascinating creatures, most sincerely" sounds like a beautiful novel or an ambient rock band. Love.
