Aleks refused to participate in making valentines despite being the one to pull all the supplies out and start spilling glitter glue everywhere. He quickly abandoned his attempt once the heart-shaped doilies were applied with gold glitter glue to the construction paper and a blue marker monster face was drawn above them. Bastian, however, had a great deal of fun gluing down all the paper hearts I cut out and painting with watercolors and spilling extra fine red glitter everywhere. Here he shows off the additional painting he did to the watercolor painting he'd already finished, which I'd then cut out and glued to this red heart. There is glitter everywhere.
One of his watercolor paintings. He does a lot of painting in a circle, necessitating that I move the page over so he doesn't rub right through.
All of Bastian's valentines. I kept one for myself and wrote, "To mama, love, bastian" on the back. It hangs on the refrigerator. The others we mailed to Grandmas and Grandpas and Aunts.
Where hearts once were.
