In putting it in the magnifying bug jar, he accidentally has a leg removed.
We feel bad, but harass him for a bit before I can convince the kids to release him, however damaged, back into the wild to hunt and kill pests. Our luck with these things doesn't seem so good. I hope we don't attract cockroaches as karmic payback.
